Vivian had been excited when one of her old college mates said they would be stopping by in town for some business meeting. But they would have a bit of free time and could meet some place for some drinks. She knew the perfect place and suggested Strangefellows, giving the address to the place along with tips on how to get there. It was a Sunday evening, which meant she could scoot away from the diner a lot easier. As it happened to be one of the slower nights. But she did make sure to let those who were working that night to call her cellphone if anything happened to come up. With that all set aside, she made her way back home to get ready for the evening. There was no real reason for her to get all dolled up, she just wanted to look a bit classy for when she met up with her friend. One of those, oh look at how well I am doing. Some of her friends had teased her a little bit about her wanting to put so much effort into her family diner, like she would not make much for herself. So she was more then happy to prove them wrong by out dressing them. It might seem a bit petty to some, but it was always a bit of idle rivalry amongst friends.
There was huge grin upon her face as she looked at herself in the mirror. Vivian could not believe how giddy she was tonight. Regardless of why, after a touch of pink lip gloss she was ready to go. The were plenty of leftovers in the fridge for her siblings, so she knew they would not starve themselves while she was out for the night. Before she got ready, she made sure have something herself as she knew it was a bad idea to have any amount of alcohol in your system when you had not eaten. She quietly slipped out of the house, in hopes of not getting any teasing comments from any of her siblings. She was already getting enough from Harmony, her spirit friend, that she did not the extra teasing from her siblings. Not to mention the million questions she was bound to get. But she had escaped the house without anyone noticing and made her way to Stranglefellows. Once she was there, she carefully glanced around to see if her friend was there. But it would seem like she was early, so she decided to find a place for them to sit at the bar on one of the corners. They could always move later to one of the tables if need be.
” Cosmopolitan, please.” Vivian said to the bartender as she sat down at the bar. Not too many people were sitting at the bar, which she was counting as lucky. While she was waiting for her drink to arrive, she heard phone buzz lightly letting her know she had a text message. She quickly pulled her phone out to see what it was, only to find out that her friend had to cancel their plans and this meet up would have to happen another time. She frowned a little feeling so stupid that she had gotten dressed up for nothing and felt like she should just rush back home to curl up with a good book or something. But she was far too stubborn for that, no she was going to enjoy at least one drink and try not to feel sorry for herself too much. “Thank you.” She said softly as her drink was brought to her. She took a nice long sip feeling a bit better. The drink was pretty good and a lot better then the stuff she would drink when she was feeling like crap and wanting to get drunk at home. At least she had a good drink to keep her company for now.
